How to Crack a Boulder

Humans can use tools like a hammer and pick to crack rocks. We can also crack rocks by dropping them from up high. What if there were no humans around though? What could crack something as big as a boulder clean in half?

In this lesson, we’re going to do an experiment to find out, and we’ll learn about the force of nature that is strong enough to crack something as hard as a rock.
